Benjamin Zander TED Talk Rewatch
We watched part of the Zander talk again with explanations. Could you understand it better? We will watch the last five minutes again next time.
Watch the video again before next time. If you think it will help you, watch it again with English subtitles (you can turn this on at the TED Talks website).
Quizlet
We spent a few minutes using Quizlet in class. Try using it whenever you have a few free minutes during Golden Week.
Next lesson
We will complete the Zander talk next lesson. Then, we will move on to a new, shorter video. This video is a part of a series based on brain research.

Lesson 1 — Welcome!
Welcome
Welcome to Academic Listening with GTB (aka Daniel Beck)
In this course, we will build skills for listening to English lectures. Some of the audio will be from lectures, but we will also listen to other kinds of audio. We will work on note-taking skills, critical thinking, and discussing and writing about what we've listened to.
Today, I introduced myself and I asked you to write some information about yourself.
New General Service List Test (NGSLT) and New Academic Word List Test (NAWLT)
We also took a couple of vocabulary level tests. This will help us in the coming weeks.
Next week we will begin listening to audio.
Let's have a good semester together!
